brushup on my literary side, a book review!

Like much of local literature the tone was quite detached, i felt it was quite a good read as it stated facts rather than sensationalising the cases. Can tell that he is really not bs-ing you on those cases and like what a critic said *brutally honest* accounts.I admitted i skimmed through the autobiography part, haha i am more of a thriller mystery fan. However i would have liked to see a little more detail into the cases was in complete HUH?? mode during his account for the JBJ case as im not well acquainted with '90s politics so a brief summary would have been nice ><
book is for more mature audiences ( as in it is not R rated la,like some of the thriller rape mystery accounts i have read, but more suited for adults who would be more likely to be familiar with singapore politics and high profile cases and stuff, something that our generation is too lazy to care about because we are arrogant twits. I know some stuff like the Anthony Ler and Huang Na case...the Curry Chicken case..from watching local reenacments on that channel 8 show which i have since forgotten the name.-.- but not in full detail.guess it exposes us to a different perspective of a lawyer.I guess for me a moderately good addition to book collection=)
This book has given me insights into court proceedings, maybe i should consider sitting through a court session, mom said before that she would try to arrange for it someday. But then ive never felt tt it was my calling to be a lawyer that one is more for the ang moh people, but i dont mind providing evidence in court as a pathologist or psychiatrist ( haha both very subjective sectors of the medical field.individual interpretation which has a basis in fact! which kind of suits me of course as a arts-science hybrid person thingy)
Overall:
6.5/10
