hermit days (Tuesday, February 23, 2010 / 9:07 AM)
after a few days of casual job searching and some job offers from friends i have decided to stay happily un employed where i will venture out of my cave only for guitar lessons, pleasure trips to meet my friends, donuts and bubble tea :D
meanwhile listening to loads of guitar music since im going to pick up the electric i might as well know what im getting into right i dont want to end up in a power-chord rut playing pop songs and power rangers,i have an ibanez for god's sake =(.from my limited hearing experience i think..
i think most guitarists abuse the whammy bar to make the WAH-WAH sound.haha it includes steve vai...i prefer music from his semi virtuoso days, now the collaborations he is doing..plus branching into singing..
do you like it?it is not too bad,but i tink he should stick to jamming on his electric jem.:D some musicians try to deviate too much and in the end sound like crap.like a recent straits times article about the collaboration with SCO and a violinist?( i tink it was a violinist, correct me if im wrong) which has quite bad review as the instruments did not complement.which leads to me thinking about Vai's "For the Love of God" collboration with an orchestra ( he transcribes orchestra pieces like how talented is that :D),wouldnt that be slaughtered by our local press? but then that would lead to quite a huge backlash by the american community who love vai.
one of the guitarists i hv really grown to worship is joe satriani.really humble guitarist..which is really contrasting sometimes with my own teacher who never fails to insinuate how good he is LOL all in good humour though.i think one of his interviews where he was really inspiring, where his mentality is that it is his honour to play for his audience rather than "it is an honour for the audience to hear me play therefore i must make them pay exorbitantly ridiculous tickets which is not really fair to judge the musicians as it is really the fault of the money sucking companies" .check out his surfing with the alien video, love the attitude and bling.... damn he is married.
i wish i was born in the USA like 10-2o years ago.i feel epicly stuck in the wrong era. dont you get that feeling sometimes? no? you are weird.
RANDOMLY...
i feel very bloated from all the suan mei, sugar, penchant for condiments, imported bubble gum that i have been bonbarded with recently and work has got me the habit of drinking coffee.alas, random googling has informed me that all these habits lead to water retention, which is NOT GOOD as i drink loads more water than most people cos im more thirsty and hence toilet frequencies also increase, which is unhappy when it is in the middle of the night so i have to wake up to go pee. so i have researched on the solution called the Waterfall Diet online which mildly reminds me of diarrhea.ok im just kidding about the diet you have to pay to buy it online and it sounds sooo dubious.
