zen of guitar (Sunday, February 14, 2010 / 9:00 PM)
got laughed out loud at my guitar teacher for getting some tempo wrong last week-.-was a bit annoyed but oh well he has the right since i might suck,it is just something i wouldnt do if i were a teacher lah.but he got me thinking why i would want to try and pick this up though i have an obviously weak musical background..no it is not for the money or for the cool factor,it is cos i like the music that the instrument is able to create..i dont want to play for anyone but myself.
decent amt in hongbao considering least no. of places visited so far...-.- also realized that i lost quite a bit of weight cos of work stress + no time to eat woo hoo giving me more excuse to indulge during chinese new year :D havent gotten over my phobia of pineapple tarts yet though :x ugh shouldnt have taken so many free samples from the taka food fair.
everyone has been giving me loads of different advice about what course to take in uni...everyone has such conflicting views due to their different backgrounds that i am a bit confused as well.this is what it boils down to:
1)be a dentist.the patients cant complain when you scold them for not brushing their teeth cos their mouth is under your mercy.plus as a dentist u can earn so much moneyy.1k in 20 minutes plus attractive assistants of your choice ( as seen by my orthodontist, wonder what opinions his wife has..)
2)work in finance/accounting,like an investment professional in GIC...ooh then i will be working under kuan yew's offspring, hsien yang O.O never liked govt political prats.LOL.i tink i would avoid govt jobs but govt is the most stable in singapore, unlike the private and creative sector.
3)psychology and media...very subjective as it is closest to my interests but the most "useless" degrees, cannot really earn much or get far unless you are specialised.and print media is dying, everything is moving into the virtual world...and psychology is really second rate to psychiatrist i might say and i am not sure i am up for the 11 years of study before specialisation to be a medical professional.
4)CAAS if i get the scholarship.viable option and same working place as my mom LOL.except she will be in customs and i will be in the control tower or overseas or in boardrooms liasing with international representatives.so cool to work in one of singapore's national monuments.
5) BANKING AND BUSINESS AND RETAIL IS NOT EASY.not only do you have to kiss ass to loads of people you also have to fight with a thousand other wannabes and you really need passion and dedication to do this.so it is absolutely out of the window for me as the money driven aspect appalls me-.- still remember my manager at my workplace always pushing sales, like the underlings are mechanical sales robots, hello it is also dependent on the frequency of ugly middle aged patrons that flood the store like vain cockroaches trying on thousands of hideous outfits despite realizing the amount of effort salesppl have to go through to fold every single piece, stuff it back into its original packaging and put it back on the designated shelf,in which we are not careful the entire stack of clothes would come tumbling down and smack us right in the face.i though all forms of work was this shitty until i realized after snooping around i was placed in the most fucked department.like seriously i will never work in a cheena boutique again.
owell.this has turn into a i hate my job rant.LOL.time to screw my life right back on track.
